Zoysia Australis
Stock available November 2026Zoysia Australis is a new, resilient variety of Zoysia grass, specifically bred to withstand the demands of a busy family environment. With its medium-textured leaf and shade tolerance, it thrives in areas where other Zoysia types may struggle.
Zoysia Australis has moderate shade tolerance, making it suitable for areas with partial shade. For optimal growth, it requires at least 4 hours of direct sunlight each day
Thanks to its strong wear tolerance, Zoysia Australis recovers quickly from damage, aided by its deep root system and rapidly spreading rhizomes.

Watering: Zoysia Australis develops a deep root system that allows it to thrive with minimal water. During its establishment phase, it requires watering 2–3 times per day. Once established, Zoysia Australis needs very little water—only requiring a deep soak when signs of stress appear
Fertilising: Zoysia Australis has been specifically bred to thrive with minimal inputs. We recommend fertilising just twice a year—once in mid-spring and again in late autumn. However, timing may vary depending on your region
Zoysia Australis can be mown to a height between 20–50mm. Regular mowing encourages dense, lateral growth, which enhances its resistance to wear, weeds, and pests. For optimal results, we recommend mowing every 1–2 weeks during the peak growing season. Zoysia Australis is also suitable for use as a no-mow lawn, requiring minimal upkeep
